Hi, my name is Yvonne. I spent 17 years in the early education field as a preschool teacher and director. I became a mom to my son George in 2021 and like most moms I was eager to join playdates and make new mom friends. I looked for some groups to join, but soon noticed a lack of play based learning groups in my area. The idea was born to set up recurring playgroups with a friend. Our goal was to meet other moms, form bonds and offer low cost/free meet ups as often as possible. I was inspired to connect with other families in the area who wanted to see the same faces each week without the commitment of joining any membership driven businesses.
We started with a free toddler soccer “ league” at the park, which evolved into theme based sensory based learning meet ups and holiday events. I’ve had the honor of sharing ideas from the curriculum I created during my years in the preschool with parents all over the island. With the launch of LI | TX Play and Learn, we have been able to expand our meet ups to a variety of activities offered to our families weekly.
We are excited to have recently expanded to Texas!
Our mission is to foster a love of learning in your little ones, through hands on sensory exploration, art, music, movement and other creative mediums. We believe parent participation in the early toddler years is key to developing a foundation for future success.
